MY SPECIALTIES
INDIVIDUAL COUNSELLING
Confidential individual counselling sessions are 75 minutes long and can be completed in person or online. Client led sessions are tenderly held in a sacred container where vulnerable healing can occur.
TRAUMA AND PTSD
Somatic Psychotherapy excels in working with trauma and PTSD. We can include the body as well as the mind to help to navigate developmental, sudden or repeated trauma.
ADDICTION
Addiction counseling provides a supportive environment for individuals seeking to overcome substance use challenges. Through personalized therapy sessions, clients can explore the underlying issues contributing to their addiction, develop coping strategies, and build a strong support network. This process fosters self-discovery and empowerment, guiding individuals toward a healthier, more fulfilling life. My Somatic Therapy approach is useful in supporting impulse control, unwanted patterns, forgiveness and growth through the process of letting go of addiction.
ANXIETY
PSYCHEDELIC INTEGRATION
I follow the 80-20 with psychedlic's, 20 percent of the work is in the session and 80 percent is meaningful integration. I have many years of experience with psychedlic's and am excited to put these skills to use for your integration.
COUPLES COUNSELLING
The approaches can be varied but the essence is creating a safe container where honest dialogue, vulnerability and witnessing are home base. Please contact me if you have any questions.
DEPRESSION
Somatic therapy can be a powerful approach to addressing depression by fostering a deeper connection between the mind and body. Through increased awareness of physical sensations and emotions, individuals can learn to recognize and process their feelings more effectively. This therapeutic method encourages clients to tune into bodies, helping them release stored tension and trauma, ultimately leading to a greater sense of well-being. By cultivating this awareness, somatic therapy can empower individuals to navigate their depression with compassion and understanding.
Somatic therapy offers a unique approach to managing anxiety by focusing on the connection between the mind and body. Through gentle awareness of bodily sensations (and the emotions associated), clients can explore the roots of their anxiety and begin to work with it. This therapeutic process encourages a deeper understanding of emotional experiences, empowering individuals to find relief and regain a sense of control. By integrating somatic practices, clients can cultivate a greater sense of calm and resilience in their daily lives.
GRIEF & DEATH
Grief and death are welcome topics in sessions. Undigested grief may be a large part of our depression symptoms. Our avoidance of true grieving is a major societal problem and working with it is a passion of mine.
Death fits into a similar category as grief, present yet hard to be with in our culture.
